Uniquely, the DirectorsLittleBlackBook list the ‘insiders’ agencies and management companies that are more likely to open and consider a short, reel or feature from an unrepresented filmmaker. 

At DirectorsLittleBlackBook.com, we understand the barriers that prevent so many talented filmmakers from going to the next level of their career.  Knowing the names of an agency’s staff is of little value to unrepresented filmmakers if the agents listed rarely – if ever – consider submissions from unrepresented filmmakers.  Our goal in creating the DirectorsLittleBlackBook was to help unrepresented filmmakers get in the door.  So we researched over 400 agencies and management companies with one simple goal: identify wherever possible, the people at each of these agencies and companies that would be the most accessible to an unrepresented filmmaker.  These people – whom we call ‘insiders’ – were hand-selected for the DirectorsLittleBlackBook using two basic criteria’s: their commitment to giving a new filmmaker their big break, and the level of influence they have in decisions involving the signing of new directors.
